Candidates must possess a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field, or have equivalent experience. A Level 3 HACCP certification, Level 3 Food Safety certification, and an Auditor qualification are required. The ideal candidate will have proven success managing multi-level teams and cross-functional relationships, expertise in maintaining and developing Food Safety & Quality Management Systems to BRC standards, strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and food safety risk assessment, experience in auditing, non-conformance management, and root cause analysis, and an understanding of hygiene standards, cleaning processes, and hygiene supervision. Proficiency in GMP auditing, continuous improvement initiatives, data analysis, communication, influencing, organization, attention to detail, and Google Workspace is also necessary.
The QA Manager will lead and manage the site Quality Assurance function, ensuring compliance with BRC, HACCP, legal, and customer requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing and maintaining the site QMS, allergen management, pest control, and internal auditing programs. The role involves managing and developing a team of Supervisors and Operatives, fostering performance, training, and engagement. The QA Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to drive GMP, food safety, and product quality improvements, act as deputy to the Group Technical Manager when required, and lead investigations into non-conformances, complaints, and incidents. They will also prepare for and support site audits, guide and support hygiene standards, and analyze quality and food safety data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Additionally, the QA Manager will represent the Technical team in projects, meetings, and initiatives, ensuring food safety and quality remain top priorities.
