Requirements

  • Associate degree and/or 5–7 years in a production environment
  • Previous experience in production environment
  • Proficiency in Cybermation/ESP scheduling software package
  • Strong OS JCL & SDSF skill set
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of UNIX and NT environments
  • Experience with Service Now or equivalent problem management tool
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of IMS Standards and products (a plus)
  • Amenable to 24x7x365 shifting schedules (dayshift/nightshift, weekends, holidays) and hybrid setup

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the production environment (Mainframe, UNIX, LINUX, NT platforms) using established tools
  • Provides first level response to job failures within the production environment
  • Takes corrective actions when possible, according to established SOP
  • Escalates issues requiring second-level support using established call escalation procedures
  • Takes appropriate actions to ensure processes are completed according to the schedule
  • Documents issues into the Problem Management system and conducts follow-ups for resolutions
  • Informs relevant production support teams of outstanding issues requiring further follow-up
  • Provides updated status of current environment and activities to the next shift at daily turnover meeting
  • Provides shift status to manager detailing issues impacting deliveries
  • Provides training to new/junior analysts as required
  • Acts as a product-specific or procedural SME in the absence of Scheduling and/or manager onsite
