Requirements

Candidates must possess a CPA, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and Big 4 experience. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including senior-level controllership or corporate accounting roles, is required. Proven experience preparing a company for IPO or operating as a public company controller/senior accounting leader is essential, along with deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are necessary. System savviness, including experience with Netsuite or similar ERP and financial automation tools, is expected. Experience and desire to utilize AI and latest technologies to build scalable operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Controller will own and scale the accounting function, building the team, processes, systems, and policies to support hypergrowth and long-term success. This role involves leading all aspects of the monthly close, consolidation, and external reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and readiness for SEC standards. The Controller will drive IPO readiness initiatives, including PCAOB audit standard readiness and the implementation of public company financial controls and policies. Responsibilities also include managing relationships with auditors and external advisors, leading and developing a high-performing accounting team, and partnering cross-functionally across departments to align on business drivers and reporting outcomes. Additionally, the Controller will foster a culture of truth seeking, sense of urgency, and passion for excellence.
