Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering or related field and 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in food processing/manufacturing operations with solid progressive leadership experience (or 7+ years of such experience in lieu of degree)
  • Strong presentation, communication, training, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of understanding the drivers of product and labor cost variances
  • Previous experience working as a team leader in a multi-faceted team
  • Ability to strategically plan, organize, and manage a department with regards to daily hours, schedules, productivity, quality and safety
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentoring, coaching and train all production supervisors to develop effective and efficient teams
  • Collaborate with Plant Steering Team to focus on increasing employee and leadership engagement, developing KPIs and analyzing data, and implement short- and long-term strategies, including project leadership, efficiency, cost reduction and employee engagement
  • Handle information and documents professionally and confidentially
  • Meet at least weekly with Supervisors and Managers to review production KPIs
  • Analyze and report weekly and monthly KPI regarding the production capacity of the plant equipment, downtime (planned v unplanned), staffing levels, etc
  • Coordinate cross functional team to improve efficiencies of the plant based on findings
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership team to ensure and monitor proper operations support to meet or exceed annual scorecard and elevate and prioritize issues that need addressed
  • Maintain strong production floor presence
  • Communicate effectively, timely, and professionally with co-workers, leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate data reaches all audiences
  • Adapt well to changing priorities with a positive and professional demeanor
  • Create and enhance professional relationships with upstream and downstream key stakeholders to facilitate communication, collaboration, and problem solving
  • Maintain Plant Scorecard Dashboard
  • Participate in coaching and mentoring as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the team
  • Cross Training with Powder Departments
  • Responsible for department costs to budget through effective manpower planning, and scheduling
