Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Product Development, or a related field, and have proven experience in product research, development, or sourcing. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret market data and consumer trends, are required, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills for liaising with suppliers and factories. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis tools, and industry-specific software is also necessary, and the ability to work across time zones to coordinate with international teams, preferably overlapping with Chinese and NY time zones, is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Product Research and Development Specialist will conduct in-depth market research to identify consumer trends and competitor offerings, analyze customer needs to translate insights into product concepts, compile technical specifications and material requirements, communicate with manufacturers and factories to ensure production aligns with design expectations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product development strategies with business goals. They will monitor prototyping and testing phases, stay updated on industry regulations, prepare reports and recommendations, and work closely with leadership teams to present findings.
