Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of connector design experience
  • 3+ years of automotive connector experience (preferred: terminal, header, FFC/FPC, and board-to-board connectors)
  • Strong knowledge of contact physics, materials, and finishes
  • Familiarity with connector manufacturing processes (stamping, molding, plating, assembly)
  • Self-motivated and independent analysis/judgment skills
  • Dynamic personality with a winning and high-performance mindset
  • General knowledge of automotive standards (USCAR, LV214, GM3191) is desirable
  • Strong data analysis skills (6sigma /DOE/SPC/CPK/MSA etc.)
  • Good team-oriented and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Drive the brand new product development of advanced Low voltage connectors
  • Conduct FMEA and risk analysis
  • Review DFM with cross-functional teams
  • Identify test procedures and lead the test plan with the Validation Engineer
  • Coordinate product design, fabrication, design validation, and certification testing according to standards
  • Serve as a technical partner, troubleshoot, and provide support to manufacturing engineers, QA, sales, marketing, and external customers
  • Research and build technical influence on cross-functions by understanding existing knowledge and new technologies
  • Collaborate with multiple sections to ensure product design, fabrication, design validation and certification testing is completed according to standards
