Position Overview

Bonterra is seeking a passionate Product Designer to join our fundraising software team. In this role, you will lead design initiatives within a dedicated product pod, bringing structure, clarity, and creativity to complex challenges. Reporting to the Director of Product Design and Research, you will collaborate across disciplines, contribute to product direction, and transform user insights into accessible, scalable experiences that enhance fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design work for product features, from initial research and concepting through polished execution.
  • Translate product goals and user needs into design solutions using flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
  • Break down complex design problems into simple, elegant, and actionable experiences.
  • Contribute to product road mapping by advocating for user needs and shaping scope through design-led discovery.
  • Partner closely with engineers and product managers to align on vision, feasibility, and delivery timelines.
  • Utilize research, usability testing, and performance data to validate work and iterate effectively.
  • Leverage and improve upon a shared design system to ensure consistency and efficiency across experiences.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience designing interactive digital products, preferably within SaaS or nonprofit tooling.
  • Ability to independently lead design projects within a team while contributing to shared direction and systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design thinking and receive feedback from diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Figma for exploration, mockups, and working within a design system.
  • Experience framing design decisions using research, user feedback, and data, with a capacity for rapid iteration.
  • Eagerness to explore and adopt emerging tools (e.g., ChatGPT, V0, Lovable) to enhance workflow, support rapid iteration, and collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams.
  • Must not require current or future sponsorship for employment authorization.

Compensation

US Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $120,000

  • The displayed salary range reflects the target for new hire salaries across all US locations.
  • Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
  • Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include discretionary bonuses/incentives and benefits.
