Position Overview

Ashby is revolutionizing modern SaaS development by adopting a principled approach to product design. Unlike traditional models where design is a separate, sequential step, Ashby integrates design deeply within product teams. This allows designers to contribute at varying degrees, from consulting on simple tasks to owning entire projects from inception to completion, including project updates and resource management. This integrated approach has enabled Ashby to successfully challenge established players across multiple industry verticals.

Ashby automates and simplifies these high-volume tasks, offering insights into process inefficiencies and providing a more effective solution for talent acquisition.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of product design experience in desktop SaaS.
  • Ability to think from first principles rather than solely applying standard UX processes.
  • Skill in breaking down complex user problems by asking targeted questions.
  • Sufficient experience to leverage intuition for usability solutions, complementing data and research.
  • Curiosity and resourcefulness to develop creative solutions and de-risk them effectively.
  • Strong skills in layout, navigation, information architecture (IA), UI, and interaction design.
  • Strong visual design skills with an obsession for craft and detail.
  • Bonus: Experience at an early-stage startup or experience as a solo designer on a team.
