Candidates must possess a JD from a top law school and be a member of the California Bar. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally with marketing review, advertising law, or product counseling exposure, is required. A strong understanding of U.S. advertising and consumer protection laws, privacy principles, and emerging technology issues is essential. International experience and expertise in intellectual property and/or privacy are considered a plus. The ideal candidate is a motivated, creative, flexible, business-minded problem-solver with strong judgment, ethics, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The Product and Marketing Counsel will advise on legal compliance for product launches and user research, handle copyright and IP matters, and review marketing campaigns and press releases. Responsibilities include reviewing and advising on marketing content across various channels, ensuring compliance with consumer protection and advertising laws, and partnering with marketing and brand teams to mitigate legal risks. The role also involves providing legal guidance on new product features, ensuring legal considerations are integrated into the product development lifecycle, and managing the company's intellectual property portfolio with outside counsel.
