Provide direct supervision and coaching to team leads and associates; evaluate performance, identify training needs, and foster development

Drive the performance management cycle including goal setting, performance reviews, and recognition or corrective action
Proactively address employee relations matters, partnering with HR and escalating complex issues as needed
Oversee employee-related administrative functions in compliance with company policies and established deadlines
Set clear, measurable performance goals using key performance indicators (KPIs); drive accountability for departmental results
Ensure timely, accurate handling and shipping of products across all functional areas
Complete and review required reports (e.g., productivity, safety, incident tracking); identify patterns and share insights with leadership
Collaborate with peers and cross-functional leaders to ensure seamless coordination of activities across departments
Ensure alignment with strategic initiatives and contribute to broader distribution and operational excellence programs
Develop and execute short- and long-term operating plans to meet distribution center (DC) goals and daily schedule requirements
Monitor adherence to daily plans by tracking hourly production, flow rates, and inventory levels; take corrective actions when deviations occur
Analyze trends in safety, quality, and performance through active floor presence (MBWA) to drive operational improvements
Research inefficiencies and recommend process, system, or policy improvements to enhance productivity and quality
Participate in or lead budget-related activities, using data to inform labor planning and cost management
Maintain strong cross-functional communication with internal teams, leadership, and external partners to support operational alignment
Use downstream implications to make well-informed decisions that benefit the broader operation, not just the immediate area of responsibility
Act as a liaison between hourly teams and leadership to ensure consistent messaging, expectations, and feedback flow
Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, Prescribed Work Methods (PWM), and compliance protocols across all assigned areas
Monitor safety and maintenance reports, lead local initiatives, and escalate unresolved risks to leadership
Identify and address unsafe behaviors or policy violations promptly, reinforcing a culture of safety and accountability
Handle other duties as necessary to maintain Distribution Center daily operations
Flexibly support other areas of the business or projects as needed, stepping in for leadership coverage, special initiatives, training, or process pilots
