Requirements

  • Experience in process engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of engineering discipline, including robust process definition, testing, change management, manufacturing instructions, statistical process monitoring and control, and error proofing
  • Proficiency in advanced quality tools such as DOEs, FMEAs, and SPC
  • Ability to develop accurate routings, BOMs, and master data
  • Skills in structured problem solving and validation techniques
  • Experience with new process development, validation, and change control procedures (e.g., PCCB)
  • Leadership and management experience, including selection, training, development, compensation, performance motivation, supervision, mentoring, and providing feedback to engineering personnel
  • Ability to recommend and approve organizational structures and staffing
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes, scrap reduction, cycle time reduction, production costs, and rework reduction
  • Familiarity with manufacturing trends, capabilities, processes, technologies, and capacity planning
  • Compliance with laws, company policies, and procedures (e.g., Equal Opportunity Employment, Affirmative Action, Business Ethics, EPA, OSHA, and regulatory agencies)

Responsibilities

  • Manage all manufacturing processes and related engineering projects at the Electronic Materials Brewster facility
  • Coordinate engineering activities to produce quality products and meet cost objectives
  • Manage, direct, and coordinate the process engineering team to meet product producibility requirements and support the production plan
  • Improve overall plant functions through continuous improvement processes with the manufacturing team
  • Meet throughput goals, yield objectives, and customer expectations for delivery and quality
  • Provide and maintain safe operating conditions and processes
  • Define process requirements, limitations, instructions, operator instructions, set-up requirements and procedures, process control parameters, standard processing times
  • Support new product introductions and process improvements
  • Set engineering and continuous improvement plans to meet long- and short-term company goals, including defining and communicating goals, key objectives, and metrics
  • Ensure process engineering meets business needs related to capabilities, processes, technologies, and capacity; stay current with manufacturing trends
  • Develop and enforce a culture of strong engineering discipline
  • Lead process improvement teams focused on scrap, cycle time, production costs, and rework reduction
  • Provide guidance to process engineers on process control plans and advanced quality tools
  • Ensure proper development of routings, BOMs, master data; conduct variance investigations and corrective actions
  • Develop and ensure metrics to monitor performance against goals and take corrective actions
  • Ensure structured problem solving and adequate validation for issues and changes
  • Develop and validate new processes prior to manufacturing incorporation and follow change control procedures
  • Develop and maintain an effective engineering organization through personnel management
  • Work with Plant Manager and Product Managers to create and execute new product transition strategies
  • Comply with laws, company policies, and procedures
