Member of Technical Staff, Applied Research
RunwayFull Time
Senior (5 to 8 years), Expert & Leadership (9+ years)
Candidates should possess a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in Computer Vision or Machine Learning, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in building and deploying production-grade computer vision models. Strong theoretical knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and model architectures like CNNs, Vision Transformers, and Diffusion Models is required, as is proficiency in Python and scientific computing libraries like NumPy, OpenCV, and scikit-learn. Experience with model optimization for edge deployment using tools like ONNX and TensorRT is considered a strong plus.
The Principle Applied Scientist will lead the research, design, and development of advanced computer vision models for tasks including object detection, tracking, segmentation, OCR, scene understanding, and 3D vision, translating business needs into scalable scientific solutions. They will design and implement experiments to evaluate model performance, collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate vision models into applications, drive innovation through internal IP generation, and provide scientific and technical leadership while mentoring junior scientists and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and computer vision.
