The Principal AI Engineer must lead the architecture and delivery of agentic AI systems, define technical standards and reusable patterns for reasoning, tool use, and coordinated action, and partner with cross-functional teams to transition prototypes into secure, observable production solutions. This role requires establishing playbooks, evaluation frameworks, and platform components to accelerate adoption, mentoring teams, and ensuring alignment with Responsible AI, security, and regulatory requirements. Experience in defining strategy, evangelizing adoption, and delivering measurable business impact through AI is essential.
The Principal AI Engineer will set the technical vision and reference architecture for agentic AI across products, defining organization-wide standards for reasoning loops, tool use/function calling, memory, safety, and interoperability. They will build and govern reusable platform components such as model brokers, multi-model routing, orchestration services, evaluation harnesses, prompt/versioning stores, and telemetry to accelerate adoption across teams. This role involves identifying and prioritizing high-value AI use cases, building scalable platforms, and creating playbooks and patterns to accelerate implementation, while also investing in talent development and equipping teams with the skills and tools to embed AI across the organization.
