Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Demonstrate personality traits such as accuracy, initiative, judgment, originality, and attention to detail
Demonstrate qualities of leadership and the ability to plan for, coordinate, and direct the activities of and work with individuals and groups engaged in engineering and technical activities
Pass the minimum physical requirements as prescribed by Eversource, including corrective vision, normal color perception, hearing, and a sense of smell
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain Eversource qualification to operate motor vehicles of any class and type required by the company based on departmental needs
Ability to respond to emergency situations outside of normal responsibilities, work hours, and location
Responsibilities
Perform routine calibration and testing of substation equipment, network equipment, distribution equipment, and communication systems utilized on the Eversource system
Conduct minor troubleshooting and repairs
Direct, perform, and take responsibility for routine calibration and testing assignments under general supervision, requiring thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, procedures, and company engineering practices
Demonstrate proficiency in diverse phases of the company’s engineering or technical activities related to design, construction, operations, utilization, inspection, testing, and maintenance of equipment, apparatus, structures, and safety procedures
Direct and instruct other Power Systems Technicians assisting in assignments and others as directed
Coordinate work activities effectively with employees of other departments, representatives of consulting firms, municipalities, manufacturers, customers, and contractors
Ensure safe, efficient, and productive performance of the work
Ensure all proper tools, equipment, and materials are available for job assignments and are utilized properly, including returns to inventory
