About the Role

The Azure Cloud / Systems Engineer will serve as a pivotal technical and leadership resource in the design, implementation, and operational success of the new Point-of-Sale (PoS) platform across all store locations. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring system reliability, performance, security, and the seamless integration with our Azure-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, configure, and upgrade in-store infrastructure including servers, devices, applications, and security systems.
  • Manage and optimize Azure cloud services including VNets, NSGs, and automation through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Oversee the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environment to support scalable PoS applications.
  • Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Windows 365, BarTender, and Office 365.
  • Lead patching and lifecycle management for both Windows and Linux-based systems to ensure platform health and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, Cybersecurity, and cross-functional engineering teams to align on best practices and achieve shared OKRs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and operational standards.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture, promoting accountability and inclusivity across technical delivery teams.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in PoS system infrastructure, cloud environments, and enterprise IT operations.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production environments.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
