Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical preferred)
5+ years of engineering experience
Experience in the creation of DFMEA
Experience in root cause analysis
Ability to understand technical drawings and knowledge of GD&T
Ability to use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication skills
Experience in the automotive development process
Experience in powertrain, engine, and/or timing systems (preferred)
Experience in DFM/DFA (preferred)
Manufacturing and assembly process knowledge (preferred)
Responsibilities
Provides the El Salto plant with technical problem solving (e.g., 8D lead and support) capability, including analysis of hardware for failure modes, analysis of design and manufacturing processes for root causes and corrective actions
Supports El Salto manufacturing operations, including supply chain, in solving production or process problems to ensure that product meets requirements of reliability, quality, and cost
Releases designs of El Salto products (e.g. chain timing drives, oil pump chains, VCT) in conformance with product design guidelines and BW process
Works collaboratively with global product engineering, sales, program management, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain personnel to achieve goals set forth by regional engineering management and local plant management
Keeps the regional and global product engineering management team informed of activity and progress on an agreed upon frequency
Keeps the local plant management team informed of activity and progress on an agreed upon frequency
Leads DRBFM, DFMEA, DVP&R, and DFM/DFA reviews
Identifies new concepts that address weaknesses within our current product portfolio or technology roadmap
