Responsibilities

  • Checking the accuracy of dispensed medicines, verifying patient details, medication type, dosage, labelling, and packaging
  • Reporting any medication errors or incidents promptly and correctly
  • Final accuracy check of listed items clinically checked by a Pharmacist
  • Conducting regular audits of the dispensary and stock levels
  • Supervising pharmacy assistants to ensure they follow appropriate procedures for dispensing medications
  • Maintaining proper documentation and records of all tasks undertaken
  • Guiding and training pharmacy staff, sharing knowledge and expertise
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and practices
  • Supporting the Pharmacist with delivery and effective record-keeping of patient services (e.g., blood pressure checks, stop smoking schemes)
  • Driving awareness of extra pharmacy services (e.g., Blood Pressure, New Medicine Service, Asda Online Doctor)
