Requirements

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in business, Finance, or Accounting
  • US Payroll experience a must
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant and progressive payroll experience
  • Public company payroll experience a bonus
  • Hands-on experience working on Workday Payroll
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivots, V/H Lookups) and Google Suite apps (e.g. Google Sheets)
  • Familiarity with Workday HCM and Workday Financials is a plus
  • Understanding of accounting, taxation, and finance concepts as it relates to payroll
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll-related compliance requirements
  • Adaptable to a fast-changing work environment
  • Ability to deliver accurate and on-time payroll regardless of the circumstances
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the US Payroll team, the vendor’s implementation team, and internal cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate and on-time payroll system implementation
  • Fully understand the current payroll system and processes, and identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in system design and ensure payroll demands are carried out correctly
  • Lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure smooth implementation
  • Ensure compliance with local jurisdictions for activities within the payroll domain, including statutory filings and key annual audits
  • Monitor and measure SLAs (Service Level Agreements) as agreed with the payroll vendor
  • Raise matters where there are slippages and recommend corrective action to management
  • Working closely with other functional teams (e.g. ET, HR, Stock Administration, People Operations, Benefits, and accounting) to streamline cross-functional processes
  • Recognizing opportunities and recommending process improvements also involves assisting with the design and implementation of internal control measures to ensure proper payment authorizations and segregation of duties
  • Creating and/or maintaining payroll documentation as it relates to processing, operational procedures, compliance, and other payroll-related matters
  • Providing payroll processing support as needed
