Requirements

Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in U.S. payroll, with exposure to global payroll processes being a plus. Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar systems is required, and experience with international payroll systems and annual employee tax reporting is beneficial. A basic understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements, along with strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for tasks like pivot tables and V/H/XLOOKUPs, is necessary. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, comfortable working with sensitive data, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment. Experience with equity compensation and multi-state payroll is a bonus.

Responsibilities

The Payroll Specialist will support end-to-end semi-monthly and monthly payroll processing for U.S. and international entities, validating inputs such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, and equity exercises. This role involves ensuring compliance with payroll regulations by monitoring employee nexus and completing state registrations, reconciling payroll data, and partnering with People Ops, Finance, and external vendors to maintain data accuracy and resolve issues. Responsibilities also include providing onboarding support for new employees, assisting with audits and reporting, creating process documentation, maintaining data confidentiality, and supporting process improvement initiatives to scale accounting operations.
