Candidates should possess a BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably across U.S. and Canadian payrolls, is required, along with working knowledge of federal and state/provincial payroll tax regulations and experience with multi-jurisdiction taxation. Experience with payroll systems, strong customer service focus, excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills are also necessary. The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and experience working in cross-functional environments are essential.
The Payroll Administrator will administer end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 800 U.S. and Canadian employees on a semi-monthly and bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable regulations. This role involves maintaining current knowledge of payroll tax laws, accurately incorporating payroll variables, processing changes impacting payroll, and resolving payroll issues through collaboration with internal and external partners. The administrator will also ensure accurate benefit deductions and payroll-related transactions by working with People Operations and Benefits, communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll inquiries, organize compliant and accurate payroll records, and assist with year-end activities such as W-2s, T4s, tax filings, and audits. Additionally, the role includes maintaining payroll data with a high level of confidentiality and supporting the Senior Payroll Analyst in daily operations and projects.
