Requirements

Candidates should have prior experience using Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets), Zoom, and LinkedIn, and comfortability learning to navigate new tools such as Canvas, Speedgrader, and potentially different systems used by higher education partners. Prior experience teaching or serving as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, prior experience coaching students or adults, and professional work experience are preferred qualifications. Proficiency in a second language is a plus, and a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion with exemplification of Braven’s core values is also desired.

Responsibilities

The Part-Time Grader will grade assignments for an assigned group of students using rubrics and provide meaningful feedback, support students who are flagged due to their grade, engagement, or other personal issues, communicate to the Braven team, group facilitators (Leadership Coaches), and students about students’ mastery, engagement, and upcoming deadlines, attend one virtual class (Learning Labs) night per week to build relationships with students, provide support and answer questions about upcoming assignments, observe cohorts, and potentially substitute for absent group facilitators/LCs, hold one hour of virtual office hours per week to support students who come with questions and proactively reach out to students who need more support, deeply internalize Braven's instructional content, attend all live trainings and complete additional asynchronous trainings, serve as an ambassador for the Braven team on campus by serving on panels, sharing your experience with other campus stakeholders, and completing one, 30 minute, asynchronous training per week during weeks 3 through 12 of the course.
