Requirements

  • 2-year or 4-year degree preferred (business, marketing, sales, mechanical, engineering or similar); OR equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
  • 1+ years of industrial outside sales experience required
  • Previous sales experience preferred in hydraulic hose and fittings, industrial hose, safety products (gas detection, breathing apparatus, safety MRO), general MRO, lubricants, filtration, electrical products, wire and cable, communication products
  • Track record of progressive sales accomplishments
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel overnight as required

Responsibilities

  • Market planning and research to determine opportunities with core and target accounts in assigned territory (St. Louis, MO metropolitan area)
  • Work with branch managers and company personnel to promote product lines to core and target accounts
  • Develop action plans for each territory to capture major share of core and target business
  • Call upon and visit customer sites daily to ascertain needs, take orders, promote current and new products, and foster relationships with mine-level personnel
  • Work with Inventory Control on stock levels, obsolete inventory, etc
