Candidates should possess 5 years or more of progressively responsible experience, along with 3 years of supervisory experience. They must have thorough knowledge of complex regulations specific to the environmental waste industry, including management principles, analysis and evaluation, research methods, and current industrial safety practices and industrial hygiene. Knowledge of hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal operations is also required, as is proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.
The Operations Manager leads teams, plans and executes operations at their assigned location or business unit, and ensures all operations are conducted in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. They provide technical support to management and employees, participate in site evaluations, prepare inclusive quotes, make recommendations for improvement, work with governmental agencies, ensure operations are properly staffed and trained, develop and monitor metrics, evaluate operations to control costs, ensure protection of company assets, support license renewals, ensure policy implementation, manage customer expectations, mentor and train others, act as a subject matter expert, oversee changes to programs, supervise employees, carry out supervisory responsibilities, and perform other related duties as assigned.
