The firm seeks a highly motivated Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist to oversee environmental site assessment and remediation projects for their clients. This role involves providing senior-level management, guidance, and deliverable review for environmental assessments, investigations, permitting, and remediation evaluations, contributing to the expansion of their site assessment work.

Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation is required.
  • Specific Programs: Experience with Brownfields, CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action, and/or state Voluntary Remediation Programs (VRPs) is preferred.
  • Project Management: Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and subcontractors on time and within budget.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledgeable in current and emerging remedial technologies, with a preference for candidates with experience in per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
  • Certifications: 40-hour HAZWOPER Certified.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to carry 25 pounds, climb ladders, and work on elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Direct medium to large scale complex projects to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Technical Documentation: Write and review technical documents, reports, and engineering designs, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), cleanup alternatives analyses, remediation plans, and work plans.
  • Review & Approval: Review Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs) and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) to ensure logical and efficient sampling for site characterization.
  • Data Interpretation: Interpret engineering, geological, hydrogeological, and chemical data from contaminated sites to evaluate and design/optimize multi-media remediation systems, including developing strategy, rationale, and cost estimates.
  • Staff Management: Manage and train junior and mid-level staff to facilitate growth.
  • Recruitment: Assist with recruitment of environmental site assessment and site remediation staff to expand project teams.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple clients and internal stakeholders.
