Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in technical field operations (preferably physical security)
  • 3+ years in customer-facing technical support/IT systems preferred
  • Expertise in security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection)
  • Proficiency in networking (VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Experience with IP cameras and RTSP streaming preferred
  • Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and quality control
  • Ability to work in field environments, perform physical labor, and travel frequently
  • Familiarity with security standards (UL, NFPA, ASIS International) preferred
  • Experience with authentication protocols (ONVIF, profile management) preferred
  • CSPM, CPP, or equivalent certification highly desirable
  • Background in physical security or video systems preferred
  • Experience in startups or fast-paced environments preferred
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) for creating detailed facility layouts and security system designs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee customer-facing deployments, including device configuration, network setup, and system go-live
  • Conduct on-site visits to verify setups and ensure smooth rollouts
  • Lead installation of security technologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, NFPA)
  • Train stakeholders on system operation and best practices
  • Troubleshoot network and device issues (e.g., VLANs, RTSP, firewalls, camera profiles)
  • Write shell scripts and automate Linux tasks (Python knowledge a plus)
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve escalations and improve system reliability
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers in IDFs, and manage low-voltage cabling (Ethernet, fiber optics) with proper documentation
  • Act as a trusted technical partner, ensuring maximum value from Volt AI’s solutions
  • Document deployment insights to enhance future customer experiences
  • Provide proactive support to minimize downtime and boost satisfaction
  • Implement quality assurance/control to meet industry standards and organizational requirements
  • Supervise field operations teams for efficient project completion
  • Create and maintain accurate facility maps, as-built drawings, and system specifications
  • Generate reports on field operations performance, recommending improvements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and innovative solutions
  • Manage projects to deliver on time and within budget
  • Deliver end-user training to ensure effective system use
