Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in technical field operations (preferably physical security)
- 3+ years in customer-facing technical support/IT systems preferred
- Expertise in security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection)
- Proficiency in networking (VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
- Experience with IP cameras and RTSP streaming preferred
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and quality control
- Ability to work in field environments, perform physical labor, and travel frequently
- Familiarity with security standards (UL, NFPA, ASIS International) preferred
- Experience with authentication protocols (ONVIF, profile management) preferred
- CSPM, CPP, or equivalent certification highly desirable
- Background in physical security or video systems preferred
- Experience in startups or fast-paced environments preferred
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) for creating detailed facility layouts and security system designs preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee customer-facing deployments, including device configuration, network setup, and system go-live
- Conduct on-site visits to verify setups and ensure smooth rollouts
- Lead installation of security technologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, NFPA)
- Train stakeholders on system operation and best practices
- Troubleshoot network and device issues (e.g., VLANs, RTSP, firewalls, camera profiles)
- Write shell scripts and automate Linux tasks (Python knowledge a plus)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve escalations and improve system reliability
- Install, configure, and maintain servers in IDFs, and manage low-voltage cabling (Ethernet, fiber optics) with proper documentation
- Act as a trusted technical partner, ensuring maximum value from Volt AI’s solutions
- Document deployment insights to enhance future customer experiences
- Provide proactive support to minimize downtime and boost satisfaction
- Implement quality assurance/control to meet industry standards and organizational requirements
- Supervise field operations teams for efficient project completion
- Create and maintain accurate facility maps, as-built drawings, and system specifications
- Generate reports on field operations performance, recommending improvements
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and innovative solutions
- Manage projects to deliver on time and within budget
- Deliver end-user training to ensure effective system use
