Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering preferred; other engineering disciplines will be considered
  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience, preferred
  • Previous industrial experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing, operations, maintenance, reliability, quality assurance, or metallurgy
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand product flow and process in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience with change management, preferably in a manufacturing or related industry
  • Strong collaborator and ability to influence at production unit
  • Solid teambuilding skills and demonstrated ability to motivate and coach a high performing team
  • Ensures accountability and sets clear expectations in line with commitments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines
  • Training and/or Certification with Six Sigma, SPC, 5-S, Project Management Facilitation or other quality/process improvement processes considered an asset
  • Experience and expertise in Value Stream Mapping with the ability to lead the process
  • Experience and expertise in leading problem-solving sessions, with working knowledge of techniques
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to use analytical tools/software and strong understanding of statistics (e.g. Power BI, Minitab, SQL, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the corporate operational excellence strategy, EVRAZ Business System (EBS), at the Pueblo Division with a focus on employee engagement and cultural transformation
  • Support all activities assigned to the program office in Pueblo
  • Facilitate the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, idea generation sessions, and other relevant tools or methodologies
  • Analyze existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support teams in the development and execution of process improvement plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including but not limited to operations, production, quality, finance, and IT to drive a collaborative approach to organizational improvements
  • Lead training, coaching, and mentoring sessions with supervisors and shop personnel
  • Improve engagement and facilitate cultural transformation by collaborating with employees at all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead ideation sessions with cross-functional teams and track initiative progress and financial impact for unit
  • Identify and develop operational change activists while establishing a strong communication and engagement across unit
  • Train all EVRAZ employees in EBS
  • Identify, quantify and execute on EBS activities across unit
