Requirements

  • Licensed and qualified Physician Assistant (PA) or Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) to practice in the state based on job assignment (Upon Hire)
  • Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration - US Department of Justice (state and federal based on state of practice, Upon Hire)
  • Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) (Upon Hire)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing with an active license in the state of practice (Upon Hire)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, occasional Saturdays; 72hrs/2wks

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice
  • Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members; contributes to health education of individuals and groups to increase motivation for self-care
  • Consults and collaborates with physician when assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients
  • Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols and appropriate licensing and administrative authorities
  • Interprets information from diagnostic process and consults with physician regarding abnormal findings to establish plan of care
  • Assures appropriate referrals are made for patients
  • Provides quality care, demonstrates appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices; recognizes and reacts to environmental safety factors
  • Provides patient instruction related to environment of care and safety standards
  • Contributes to the development and attainment of physician practice goals
  • Practices according to written, approved protocols and appropriate licensing and administrative authorities; understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals, and standards
  • Maintains patient records and accurate information
