Candidates should possess 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role, and expert proficiency in at least two of Go, Ruby (Rails), Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript. A proven track record of architecting and shipping complex, high-throughput systems is required, along with a deep understanding of browser internals, automation frameworks, and secure web interaction paradigms. Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML workflows or agent frameworks is also expected, as is a strong focus on code quality, testability, performance, and operational excellence.
The Principal Engineer will define and communicate the long-term technical roadmap for the browser-automation stack, architect the platform, and write production code daily. They will design distributed, fault-tolerant services and developer-facing SDKs/APIs, owning cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, security, and observability. Responsibilities also include growing, mentoring, and inspiring the engineering team, conducting code reviews, establishing engineering culture, and fostering psychological safety. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with product, design, and developer-relations teams, translating technical trade-offs for stakeholders, and turning community feedback into improvements.
