Requirements

  • Office presence minimum of 5 days per week at customer's site in Brunswick, GA (no relocation offered)
  • Experience providing onsite and remote Tier 2 support for hardware, software, applications, network diagnostics, cloud, and other IT services
  • Ability to work independently and/or under immediate supervision, relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines, with creativity and latitude
  • Reports to an Area Technical Lead in a 24x7 LAN environment (Tier II, Service Desk supported)
  • Participate in pre-scheduled after-hours support, weekly on-call rotation, and/or team support for special projects or events
  • Experience in system engineering in one or more areas: telecommunications concepts, computer languages, operating systems, database/DBMS, middleware
  • Required Clearance: Public Trust

Responsibilities

  • Provide LAN administrator support: installation, configuration, and maintenance of network communication devices, servers, network storage arrays, and tape backup units
  • Support network attached devices: computers, printers, fax machines, biometric devices, electrocardiograms, x-ray machines, smart displays, and sensors
  • Support mobile and wireless devices: smartphones, tablets, and hotspots
  • Assist in testing, applying, and maintaining server configurations and related security patches
  • Assist in maintaining and checking system health and backups, including restore testing
  • Monitor ITSM (ServiceNow) assignment groups, apply troubleshooting to resolve tickets
  • Update tickets using documentation templates/guidelines to meet quality requirements
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports on accomplished activities
  • Provide inventory support and input to the customer's inventory system
  • Install and maintain video teleconferencing infrastructure; assist with user requests
  • Conduct or provide new equipment deployments and/or requested deployment support
  • Provide cabling support and run cables within data centers, LAN rooms, and remote wiring closets
  • Analyze functional business requirements and design specifications for functional activities
  • Contribute to technical discussions, develop and present briefing materials to meet customer needs
  • Identify/fix problems in existing systems, design/implement new systems, enhance existing systems, participate in analysis, design, and construction of next-generation IT systems
  • Understand customer needs and commercially available IT products to create requirements for implementation by architecture/engineering teams and COTS products
