Requirements

  • Experienced leader managing large teams (>600 colleagues) through direct reports in fast-paced FMCG, Retail, Multi-Channel or 3PL environments
  • Proven ability to provide high levels of customer service, manage performance and productivity, coach and develop teams in a safe and compliant environment
  • Natural leader and people motivator focused on optimum productivity and continuous improvement
  • Excellent IT user with good familiarity of telematics and associated technology
  • Proven working knowledge of Health & Safety and legal requirements in a distribution environment
  • Experience working within set budgetary and performance-targeted workplaces
  • Ability to coach, lead and motivate teams to deliver results
  • Experience mobilising and managing change in people and processes
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels (direct and indirect reports) and delegate appropriately
  • Adaptable, resilient and self-aware
  • Ability to make decisions based on risk evaluation, departmental impact and knowledge of 'off price' retailing

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and achieve all key performance indicators through effective management of direct reports, focusing on service, costs, compliance and engagement
  • Recruit, develop and manage direct reports to support delivery of business KPIs
  • Take full accountability for the performance of own department(s), including achieving auditable standards
  • Collaborate with other business functions to build alignment and deliver overall business results
  • Ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met
  • Contribute to and plan day-to-day operational strategy
  • Identify opportunities and implement initiatives for continuous improvements in ways of working, quality, consistency and effectiveness of processes
  • Adhere to performance and absence management processes, analyse trends, coach teams, and follow disciplinary processes where necessary
  • Manage all employee relations issues in line with company policies
