Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of headquarter retail account experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry, including direct sales experience. Strong leadership, interpersonal, oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Nielsen, IRI, or other syndicated sales data is required, as is a willingness to travel at least 25%. Experience in the Pet Industry is preferred.
The National Account Manager will manage direct account responsibility for key pet business accounts, focusing on customer relationship management, forecasting, margin improvement, assortment optimization, and promotion management. Responsibilities include directing and monitoring account plan execution to achieve volume objectives, managing trade spending effectively to align with brand strategies, and conducting post-promotional analysis. The role involves executing the Customer Planning Model, providing strategic input for annual planning, and developing internal relationships across various departments to achieve business objectives. Additionally, the manager will understand customer strategies to link them with company goals, develop persuasive business presentations, and strengthen strategic relationships with key accounts through rapport building and developing strong connections with account personnel.
