Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, energy engineering, or a related field, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, refrigeration, thermal and fluid systems, motors, and lighting. A minimum of 4 years of experience in the energy efficiency or building efficiency industry is required, along with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines and budgets. Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills are essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Candidates must be US Citizens, Indiana residents, able to travel locally up to 25%, and have an interest in sustainability. Preferred qualifications include PE and CEM certification, experience with multifamily and commercial buildings, project/program management, and familiarity with building and energy modeling tools.

Responsibilities

The Multifamily Project Engineer will lead and support the implementation of multifamily and commercial energy efficiency projects, conducting energy audits and assessments to identify and quantify improvements in systems like HVAC, lighting, and motors. Responsibilities include performing technical energy modeling and analysis, serving as a technical liaison to clients and stakeholders, identifying and proposing solutions for energy efficiency barriers, and managing project budgets and schedules. The role also involves developing project scopes, preparing technical reports, and conducting measurement and verification (M&V) activities, including on-site data gathering and verification of installations.
