The ideal candidate must possess high proficiency in reading Mandarin Chinese and be able to leverage these skills in open-source research. A strong understanding of Chinese government bureaucracies, military, intelligence, and public security organizations is essential, along with in-depth knowledge of Chinese and other regional states' foreign and domestic policies to contextualize behavior. A general understanding of Chinese and other Asia-Pacific cyber adversaries, their characteristics, and relationships to government entities is required. Excellent English writing skills are necessary to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences. The ability to apply analytic best practices, including structured analysis, awareness of pitfalls, and critical thinking in source evaluation, is crucial. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively in a fully remote environment and demonstrate excellent time management skills and self-accountability. Professional competency in additional languages such as Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, or Bahasa Indonesia is preferred, as is experience producing intelligence reports and handling ad-hoc requests for information (RFIs). An undergraduate degree in cybersecurity, intelligence studies, security studies, criminal justice, political science, or international relations is also preferred.
The Senior Intelligence Analyst will conduct Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) investigations into enabling entities that support state-sponsored and hacktivist adversaries in the China and broader Asia-Pacific region. Responsibilities include identifying and tracking national and transnational developments that impact or are impacted by these adversaries. The analyst will compose short- and long-form finished intelligence reports, respond to customer requests for information (RFIs), and contribute to briefings as needed. Collaboration with other analysts, technical experts, and customer-facing personnel is expected, as is strategizing research prioritization efforts and identifying intelligence gaps.
