Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Minimum 5-8 years of related experience
  • Strong understanding of medical gas products and processes
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by the company
  • Reliable, appropriate transportation to travel to customer locations
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30% (to all islands)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills
  • Ability to use tools, routinely lift between 25 and 75 lbs., climb, reach, and perform various physical maneuvers (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Seasoned sales professional with strong relationship-building skills (experience in medical sales preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company’s medical product lines to new prospects and existing customers in hospitals, nursing homes, surgery centers, doctor/dental offices, and distributors by demonstrating products, features, and services
  • Emphasize benefits of Airgas products and services and match customers’ needs with appropriate company products
  • Work closely with the Medical Sales Contract Manager to enhance business processes and opportunities
  • Maintain current product knowledge through company-sponsored training, outside trade organizations, and governmental compliance agencies
  • Identify and qualify prospective customers within assigned area or territory and keep direct manager informed
  • Develop and maintain sales relationships with all accounts in assigned area or territory
  • Act as liaison between customer and company regarding pricing, products, delivery, payments, service, and inquiries
  • Collaborate with the region’s Medical Vice President and Medical Sales Contract Manager to develop and implement a market plan and sales strategy
  • Research and analyze market data to determine new customers, sales volume potential, pricing, and develop strategy to meet sales targets in consultation with regional VP of Medical Sales
  • Prepare and analyze sales reports to provide manager with summary of cause and effect relationships due to price increases, strategy initiatives, market conditions, and other factors
  • Quote prices and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained
