Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard)
  • Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.)
  • Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ)
  • Practiced in reading and understanding assembly drawings and planning instructions
  • Practiced in the inspection of mechanical hardware including damage and build integrity
  • Attention to detail
  • Good analytical skills
  • The ability to produce work to a very high standard
  • ESD/FOD awareness experience (advantageous)
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship (security clearance requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting inspection and certification of mechanical hardware builds, from small fixtures to complex missile systems, across all product lifecycle phases
  • Providing operations support to meet programme targets for time, cost, and quality
  • Ensuring completed hardware builds conform to drawing requirements and specifications and are free from damage
  • Maintaining a safe working environment in line with 5S policies
  • Delivering in line with time, cost, and quality requirements
  • Ensuring assembly unit production costs are met
  • Maintaining high workmanship standards and product quality
  • Processing and controlling non-conformances correctly
  • Ensuring all manufacturing documentation is complete with necessary certifications
  • Working closely with Operators, Engineering, and Quality teams to overcome technical challenges and provide feedback for continuous improvement
