Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection
- Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
- Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.001)
- Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation
- Ability to adapt to new technology and software
- Weekends required (every other week)
- Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
- Must be willing to undergo a background check
- Must be ITAR compliant
- Ability to read and write in English and communicate clearly verbally
- Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience
- Certification in inspection techniques or GD&T
Responsibilities
- Conduct visual, physical, and dimensional inspections of parts, assemblies, and materials at various stages (in-process, final, and first article) to ensure conformance to specifications and drawings
- Use a variety of precision inspection tools, including micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, huck and height gauges, and feeler gauges
- Demonstrate strong visual acuity with the ability to detect defects in complex products and assess workmanship quality per customer specifications
- Classify defect types and verify rework completed during inspection
- Verify documentation packages meet industry and commodity-specific standards
- Ensure proper protection and preservation of inspected products prior to further processing or shipment
- Perform 5S activities
- Assist with customer requests
