Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection
  • Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
  • Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.001)
  • Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and software
  • Weekends required (every other week)
  • Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check
  • Must be ITAR compliant
  • Ability to read and write in English and communicate clearly verbally
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Certification in inspection techniques or GD&T

Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual, physical, and dimensional inspections of parts, assemblies, and materials at various stages (in-process, final, and first article) to ensure conformance to specifications and drawings
  • Use a variety of precision inspection tools, including micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, huck and height gauges, and feeler gauges
  • Demonstrate strong visual acuity with the ability to detect defects in complex products and assess workmanship quality per customer specifications
  • Classify defect types and verify rework completed during inspection
  • Verify documentation packages meet industry and commodity-specific standards
  • Ensure proper protection and preservation of inspected products prior to further processing or shipment
  • Perform 5S activities
  • Assist with customer requests
