Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience, preferably at a consulting engineering firm
  • Ability to perform a broad range of mechanical engineering designs including HVAC systems, industrial systems (pumps, heat exchangers, piping, etc.), plumbing systems, and system controls
  • Successful track record of design, quality control and construction administration experience
  • Quick, flexible thinker and problem-solver who is accustomed to working in fluid teams on tight deadlines
  • PE License or ability to sit for PE Exam
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit a Plus
  • Experience with Trane Trace 700 and/or DOE 2 a plus
  • Experience working on federal contract projects a plus
  • Sustainable design experience a plus (also listed as energy audits and sustainable design)
  • Ability to obtain government clearances

Responsibilities

  • Research, plan and design a variety of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, system controls)
  • Prepare code compliant plans and coordinate drawings for a broad range of designs for projects that range in size from $50,000 to $100M in construction value for State, Federal, Industrial and Commercial clients
  • Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams, primarily in-house but also with subconsultants
  • Collaborate with all disciplines to prepare presentations and produce documents from schematic design through [completion]
