Requirements

Over 10 years of relevant software engineering experience, building web applications at scale with Node, React, Typescript, JavaScript, AWS, MongoDB, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes
Proven track record as a technical and people leader, with experience growing and building engineering teams
Strong opinions and willingness to voice them
Proven understanding of cloud infrastructure in a production environment
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions; proficient in debugging and troubleshooting techniques for production systems
Strong interpersonal skills and clear communication abilities, comfortable giving feedback to teammates
Proficient in back-end development concepts, including server-side architecture, design and architectural patterns, best practices, APIs, databases, and authentication/authorization mechanisms
Experience running production systems, including deploying, monitoring, and debugging; optimizing code, enhancing performance, improving system scalability and reliability
Understanding of security in software development, knowledgeable about common vulnerabilities and best practices to mitigate them

Responsibilities

Help build performant, reliable, scalable, and beautiful products, working on diverse projects and collaborating with engineering teams across multiple countries
Lead a team of frontend, backend, and full stack engineers, providing direction, guidance, ensuring OKRs are met, and high-level direction on technologies and frameworks
Solve complex problems and provide elegant solutions for customers, app users, other engineers, and product managers
Collaborate closely with product, QA, and revenue organizations to roll out features efficiently across the release cycle
Learn new things, challenge yourself to architect and implement product features
Build, debug, and manage queues, schedule jobs, map data across APIs, handle errors, and solve large-scale infrastructure and engineering challenges for strategic accounts
Create infrastructure and internal tooling to handle high transaction volume (millions of executions per minute)
Teach and learn from others, providing constructive feedback and receiving feedback for growth
Participate in regular code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
Foster a deep-rooted documentation culture across the team
Provide mentoring and feedback to the team on a regular basis
Level up the team, provide strategic guidance on technologies for the team and broader engineering org, act as a key partner in engineering leadership, perform code reviews, and raise the bar across the organization
