Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical health of the domain, ecosystem, and products, monitoring technical debt for excellence
  • Manage staffing, career development, hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and recognition to achieve talent mix, motivation, and growth
  • Explore and connect technical solutions within global network and local markets
  • Collaborate with peers, ensure compliance with standards and architectures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, support plans/initiatives for customer/business needs, communicate goals/objectives
  • Build accountability, measure progress, identify/address improvements, promote continuous learning
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire software engineering teams; foster culture of learning, innovation, high performance; provide coaching/feedback/career opportunities
  • Establish/promote engineering best practices, coding standards, QA; drive DevOps adoption for CI/CD/automation/operational excellence
  • Champion modern tools/frameworks; advocate for Gen AI/emerging tech adoption, evaluation, piloting, scaling
  • Coordinate/oversee job activities/assignments; standardize processes/tools for Canadian organization
