Requirements

Candidates should have experience managing or leading security engineering teams and be excited to build and grow one from the ground up. A strong understanding of application security, secure software development, and product-integrated security strategy is essential. Experience partnering with product, platform, and core engineering teams, as well as IT, infrastructure, and compliance teams, is necessary. Familiarity with regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements is also expected.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Security Engineering will own Headway’s application and product security strategy, setting the vision and roadmap for securing customer- and provider-facing experiences. They will build a best-in-class application security program, driving initiatives to improve security visibility and response within products. This role involves partnering with product and engineering teams to identify and mitigate risks, acting as a trusted advisor, and building tools and workflows to help engineers write secure code. The manager will also foster a strong engineering culture, align teams to security goals, and support production incident response processes.
