Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on user-facing security features. They must possess strong development skills, with extensive experience shipping Python in production, and a solid understanding of security principles such as session management, multi-factor authentication, and secure coding practices. Strong coding abilities across the full stack are expected, including the ability to read, understand, and fix issues outside the primary codebase. A flexible and constructive problem-solving approach, along with the ability to execute in fast-paced, dynamic environments, is also required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will build and ship security features for Cohere's AI workspace platform, North. This includes developing autonomous agents capable of interacting with sensitive enterprise data. Responsibilities also involve writing and deploying minimal code for low-resource environments with stringent deployment mechanisms, and integrating new tools to enhance North's security capabilities. The engineer will perform application security testing to assess code resilience against real-world threats, and may need to innovate solutions when standard libraries or tooling are not suitable due to security and privacy concerns.
