Position Overview: Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (Revenue Focus)

Cars Commerce is seeking an experienced Manager for our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role will lead a person or small team responsible for short-term forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, evaluating and measuring initiatives, developing long-range strategic plans, and serving as a key business partner across the organization. The primary focus of this position will be on Revenue, requiring close collaboration with business owners and senior leadership to critically assess key business decisions, utilize data-driven modeling, scenario planning, and analysis to optimize Revenue outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners to identify key revenue drivers and develop outlooks and forecasts.
  • Oversee annual budgeting processes.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly financial variance reporting, comparing actuals to forecasts, budgets, and prior year performance.
  • Translate variance analysis into actionable business insights to effectively inform senior leadership on business performance and drive decision-making.
  • Provide insights and counsel to key business partners to ensure performance targets are met efficiently.
  • Leverage current performance reporting to conduct sensitivity and trend analysis, incorporating internal and external data.
  • Develop highly predictive forecasts and financial models that account for major drivers and identify potential factors that could alter expected results and their value.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders on forecasting, budgeting, and strategic, less-defined projects.
  • Manage, coach, and develop Senior Financial Analysts.
  • Uphold consistent standards for all aspects of Financial Planning and Reporting.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across Finance to prevent duplication of effort and identify any gaps in responsibility.

  • Financial Modeling: Proven ability to build, challenge, and evolve financial models, identifying key drivers and leveraging analysis and economic factors for predictive output with improving accuracy.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated track record of leading and developing a highly successful team.
  • Planning: Proficient in planning processes and methodologies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights.
  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of business operations and drivers, particularly related to revenue.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with business partners.
  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying issues, developing solutions, and driving positive outcomes.
  • Planful: Experience with planning tools and methodologies.
