Manager of Advisory Role

We are seeking a Manager of Advisory to join Pattern’s Consultancy Team and drive high-impact advisory engagements for our existing brand partners. This role focuses on solving critical business challenges using Pattern’s proprietary dataset (44T eCommerce data points) and deep marketplace expertise.

Typical engagements follow the archetypes below:

  • Brand / Category Diagnostic – Assess assortment, pricing, visibility, conversion, and availability to identify performance gaps and unlock growth.
  • Innovation Insights – Identify digital whitespace and emerging trends to inform product, bundle, and claim innovation.
  • Channel / Geographic Expansion – Prioritize and plan entry into new marketplaces or regions to drive incremental, risk-adjusted growth.
  • Omnichannel eCommerce Strategy – Build integrated strategies to align pricing, content, and promotion across D2C, retail.com, and marketplaces.

This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule based in Lehi, Utah, or a fully remote schedule in certain cases.

A Day in the Life of a Manager of Advisory

  • Internal stakeholder alignment: When owning and delivering a strategic engagement for an existing brand partner, it will be critical to align recommendations with the Brand Management touchpoint.
  • Client Ownership & Growth: Lead consulting engagements, build brand relationships, and define growth strategies across marketplaces (Amazon, D2C, etc.).
  • Strategic Analysis & Recommendations: Develop data-driven strategies for category diagnostics, geographic expansion, marketplace optimization, and holistic eCommerce growth.
  • Project Management: Oversee end-to-end delivery of client engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
  • Proposal Development: Identify opportunities, craft compelling proposals, and convert leads into consulting projects.
  • Partner Collaboration – Work closely with Pattern’s Marketplace Trading, Advertising, and Creative teams to ensure recommendations integrate into execution plans.
  • Research & Benchmarking: Conduct competitive research, scorecard analysis, and market assessments to forecast trends and identify growth levers.

What You Will Need to Thrive

  • Experience: 2-3 years at a top management consulting firm (e.g., MBB).
  • Skills: Proficiency in Excel (data analysis) and PowerPoint (presentation design).
  • Digital Commerce Experience: Experience in digital commerce (marketplaces, D2C, agencies, or consultancies).
  • Strategy & Execution: Demonstrated success in strategy development and operational execution in relevant sectors (i.e., CPG, eCommerce).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional presentation, structured-communication, analytical ability and leadership skills.
  • Network: Demonstrated CPG network and ability to drive BD and source meaningful CPG connections.
