Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent experience, along with at least 8 years of experience in network operations, including a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role. Strong technical knowledge of broadband and Ethernet protocols, proven project management skills in a fast-paced environment, and excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities are essential. Experience with operational reporting tools and data analysis, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, is also required. Bonus points for experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools, familiarity with vendor platforms like Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Calix, or Adtran, and project management experience in telecommunications.
The Manager, Network Operations will lead a team responsible for the activation, augmentation, maintenance, and optimization of Brightspeed’s broadband and Ethernet networks, ensuring operational excellence through management of network element lifecycle activities. This includes overseeing circuit turn-ups, network grooming, capacity upgrades, and software upgrades, as well as accountability for operational reporting, metrics, team meetings, one-on-one sessions, and performance management. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support new technology deployments, network modernization, and strategic initiatives, while promoting team collaboration and providing technical leadership. Responsibilities include managing activation and augmentation of DSLAM/OLT and Ethernet routers/switches, ensuring efficient execution of grooming and decommissioning processes, developing KPIs and analytics reporting, conducting team meetings and one-on-ones, performing management duties, balancing priorities, initiating innovative solutions, explaining complex technical information, driving process improvements, and partnering with engineering and planning teams. Occasional travel may be required.
