Requirements

  • Hands-on working experience, knowledge and understanding of corporate meeting and business practices that support best in class meeting planning management and execution
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in planning, management and executing meetings and events
  • At least 2 years’ experience of direct management and oversight of project teams
  • Skilled in both written and verbal communications and able to present concepts and ideas in a public speaking format
  • Highly skilled in project, time and budget management, and able to work in a fast-paced, flexible and changing work environment
  • Skilled at building strategic work relationships at all levels (Administrative to C-level executive)
  • Well organized
  • Creative and able to think out of the box to come up with new and creative ideas on a very high level
  • Able to travel at least 25% of time in the US
  • Fully aware of Biogen compliance rules and strictly adhere to all rules that govern meeting and congress engagements with patients and HCPs (preferred: hands-on working experience in Biotech and/or Pharmaceutical meeting and congress planning; knowledge, understanding and experience with pharmaceutical regulations such as HIPAA and the Sunshine Act)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all meetings and congresses for assigned business unit(s) internal and external stakeholders
  • Understand the business units, products and all associated environmental factors
  • Incorporate meeting management best practices for both virtual and live meetings or congresses
  • Ensure compliance with all Biogen corporate, financial, legal, regulatory and travel policies and controls
  • Execute strategic meeting management elements to reduce overall meeting cost while improving the stakeholder experience
  • Support the business with the design of an overall strategic meeting platform via strategic partnership and relationship management of both the business leads and meeting content owners
  • Advise on meeting architecture, design and communicate the best way to operate meeting logistics for both virtual and in-person meetings or congresses
  • Lead planning teams to project manage execution outcomes
  • Manage and control program agendas to support appropriate alignment of meeting specifics and program content
  • Provide direct oversight and management of program budget
  • Drive timelines and all related tasks of the project in a proactive manner
  • Understand best practices in meetings and congresses across Biogen and within the industry
  • Serve as main point for congress organizations to streamline communications
  • Gain alignment across functions and leadership on sponsorship levels and coordinated Biogen presence, track appropriate sponsorship benefits and timelines, and organize meetings as needed
  • Oversee the supplier to plan program logistics and booth services
  • Communicate meeting objectives and execution plan(s) to suppliers
