Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Technical School certifications and/or training preferred
  • Minimum 5 years building maintenance experience
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders and ride in a lift
  • Must be available as requested to respond to facility emergencies (24/7 on-call)

Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of skilled journey-level work in maintenance and repair
  • Prioritize, schedule, assign, and review work
  • Train and provide work direction to assigned personnel
  • Inspects and operates generators and fire pumps to insurance standards and documents activity
  • Inspects facility, troubleshoots, and makes repairs to mechanical, electrical, air conditioning/water treatment, and plumbing systems
  • Repairs interior and exterior lighting (lamp, fuse, and ballast replacement)
  • Inspects air handling units, tightens/replaces belts, replaces filters, and greases components
  • Maintains logs to document activity
  • Inspects sanitary/sewer injection pumps; checking operation, tightening/replacing belts, and inspecting floats
  • Repairs and moves furniture as needed
  • Provides assistance to various departments for special events and requests
  • Assists Executive area and Simon employees as required
  • Cleans and maintains company vehicles as required
  • Picks up and transports recycling containers and trash as required
  • Maintains equipment inventories and storage areas
  • Maintains all Simon owned or leased equipment
  • Acts as a company liaison between service technicians and Simon to coordinate service
  • Acts as an Emergency Response Team Member
  • Assists other Corporate Operations Departments as needed (i.e., Central Files, Copy Center, Housekeeping and Mailroom)
  • Acts as courier for Simon as requested and approved
  • Completes and records tasks within an online database (Maintenance Log)
