Requirements

At least 5 years’ experience working with manual lathes, mills, and grinders
A technical degree in Machine Shop is preferred
Thorough knowledge of machine shop equipment
Good working knowledge of all types of CNC equipment
Prior experience in assembly or fabrication work using a blueprint
Knowledge of standard and metric blueprints and GD&T
Basic math and geometry skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Proficiency in G-code or conversational programming
Experience with programming software (Esprit, or MasterCam etc.) preferred
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, when needed

Responsibilities

Operating and programming an NC Mill
Setting up machines and creating fixtures for individual parts
Determining appropriate speeds and feeds for different materials and tooling
Checking own parts using machine shop measuring instruments (OD/ID mic’s, calipers, depth mic’s, scales, tape measure)
Maintaining safe operation by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Maintaining continuity with partner on other shift by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Moving between machine or job assignments as workload shifts
