  • Working knowledge of production reporting and production scheduling
  • Basic working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of lumber math, lumber grades, and species
  • Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the work area is running according to schedule and minimizes downtime
  • Ensuring work area and equipment are safe and clean
  • Ensuring all employees have received adequate machine-specific safety training prior to operating equipment
  • Assisting in scheduling production, balancing workloads between teams or work areas
  • Assisting in reviewing preshift machine inspection sheets and addressing concerns
  • Reviewing production sheets and communicating with employees
  • Checking material and finished products to ensure quality and that they meet customer specifications
  • Implementing CI principles to improve current processes
  • Conducting Sunrise meetings and monthly safety talks, and providing training to employees
  • Directing activities consistent with all Company policies, procedures, and applicable law
  • Communicating to employees and other management members as required
  • Leading employees in continuous improvements and safety initiatives
  • Participating in the completion of employees' performance evaluation forms
  • Preparing production reports and maintaining records as required
  • Ensuring the work area is in compliance with established safety standards
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Coordination of an operating cell work area and its support services
  • Assisting in the training of employees, and the communication between management and employees
