Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in CNC machining or automated wood manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Proven experience overseeing CNC routers, edge banders, robotic automation systems, panel saws, and Winstore material handling systems
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming, machine calibration, and process optimization
  • Proficiency with control systems such as BiesseWorks, Homag, or similar platforms
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD/CAM drawings, and production documents
  • Excellent communication, training, and motivational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, delegate tasks, and maintain team morale under pressure
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in manufacturing technology, CNC machining, or industrial management preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
  • Commitment to quality, precision, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Preferred: Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Kaizen initiatives
  • Preferred: A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a focus on training and mentoring

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and supervise machine center operators and support staff
  • Coordinate daily workflow, staffing, and production scheduling for CNC, robot cell, Winstore, edge banding, and panel saw areas
  • Ensure team members follow standard operating procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and process improvement
  • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of all machinery in the machine center
  • Ensure production targets are met while maintaining product quality and minimizing waste
  • Monitor machine utilization, efficiency, and performance; analyze data to improve throughput and reduce downtime
  • Coordinate with programming and engineering teams to ensure smooth workflow and accurate part production
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvements, automation integration, and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Implement best practices for tooling, machine calibration, and part flow to optimize productivity and quality
  • Lead problem-solving efforts when issues arise, using root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence
  • Enforce quality control standards and verify dimensional accuracy and finish of produced parts
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed and equipment is operated according to manufacturer and company guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
  • Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance schedules
  • Communicate with maintenance and technical teams to address mechanical or programming issues promptly
