Requirements

Candidates should possess intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel experience, prior collection experience, and prior experience or familiarity with FHA or mortgage loan programs. Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a Loan Counselor, the individual will provide high-quality customer service to borrowers, making timely payments and handling repayment issues. They will evaluate borrower information and loan files to determine payment options, escalate borrowers needing loss mitigation assistance, conduct collection calls in compliance with federal regulations, answer customer inquiries about mortgage loans, document all communications, and communicate with other departments about loan payments and borrower issues. Additionally, they will work with the Collection/Loss Mitigation Manager and Loan Counselor Team Lead to identify problems and improve recovery, assist with other duties as necessary, and demonstrate teamwork, integrity, excellence, and service.
